If you’re like many people, you use your iPhone and MacBook Pro together as part of your daily routine. But did you know that when it comes time to disconnect your iPhone from the MacBook Pro, there are a few simple steps to follow? In this blog post, we’ll explain how to disconnect your iPhone from the MacBook Pro.
First, it’s important to note that disconnecting your iPhone from the MacBook Pro does not delete any of your data or settings. It simply removes the connection between the two devices.
To begin, open up System Preferences on your MacBook Pro and select iCloud. Uncheck the box next to “Find My Mac” if it is checked. Then select “Sign Out” in the lower right-hand corner of the iCloud window.
Next, on your iPhone go to Settings> Apple ID> iCloud > Media & Purchases and find the name of your Macbook Pro under “Devices” at the bottom of the screen. Tap it and then tap “Remove From Account” at the bottom of this page to disconnect it from your iPhone. You will be asked for confirmation, so click Remove and then confirm again by tapping Remove one more time.
Finally, if you have been using a personal hotspot connection with your iPhone on your Macbook Pro, you can go into Wi-Fi settings by clicking on its icon in the menu bar at the top right corner of the Macbook Pro’s display and disconnecting from it by clicking on Personal Hotspot icon next to its name on the left side in Wi-Fi menu.

Unlinking a Phone from a MacBook Pro
1. On your iPhone, open the Settings app.
2. Tap on your Apple ID at the top of the screen and then select “iCloud” from the menu.
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the list of iCloud options and tap on “Manage Devices”.
4. You will see a list of all devices linked to this Apple ID. Select your MacBook Pro from this list and tap on it.
5. Tap on “Remove from Account” and confirm that you want to remove it when prompted.
6. On your MacBook Pro, open System Preferences and select iCloud from the list of options.
7. Click on “Options” next to iCloud and untick any items you no longer wish to sync with your phone such as Contacts, Calendars, or Photos if applicable.
8. Finally, click Done and then Sign Out when prompted in order to unlink your phone from your MacBook Pro completely.
Unlinking an iPhone from a Mac
To unlink your iPhone from your Mac, first, make sure the Personal Hotspot icon is visible in the menu bar of your Mac. If it is, click on it to open the Wi-Fi menu. Your iPhone’s name should be blue if it’s actively being used. To unlink your devices, click on the Personal Hotspot icon to its left and select a different hotspot or Wi-Fi network from the menu. This will disconnect your Mac from your iPhone’s personal hotspot.
Unlinking an iPhone from a Laptop
To unlink your iPhone from your laptop, you’ll need to disable the feature that enables calls on other devices. To do this, open the Settings app on your iPhone and navigate to Phone > Calls on Other Devices. From there, you can either disable the feature entirely or deselect specific devices that you don’t want to be linked to your iPhone anymore. Once you’ve made the changes, your iPhone will no longer be linked to those other devices.
