The one thing that Palm Pre users lacked until now was a development kit for the webOS. This is about to end though, as Palm have just released the first beta for their Project Ares. The closest followers of Microsoft Security updates would know that it is ideally the second Tuesday of each month when the company updates its users on security tips but when that trend is reverted, you better realize that is indeed a serious matter. One click through your spam-email and a visit to an already hacked website can spell doom for you and this is how the hackers are taking advantage of a serious computer security vulnerability Microsoft hasn’t fixed yet.

We seem to love stylish furniture with sleek, minimalistic and metallic touches, but the Oval Series above look more like the ‘couch that would make you go ouch’.With razor sharp edges crafted from aluminum, the series is an experimental design by Synthesis Studio and if this is the future of what we’ll get our butts on, then I guess it’s safe to say we would much rather stand. Built out of aluminum, with stainless steel legs and a rubber cushion we just hope someone will buy them. The elegant oval designs should get plenty of padding and very blunt edges, but wouldn’t it take away from the appeal? [via StyleCrave]

If you ever thought that Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs is trying to take on MSFT boss, Bill Gates. Apparently he likes the concept Google introduced on the Internet and he’s trying to beat the guys with their own weapons. Their latest gig the web based application – iWork.com, is a Beta version of the Google Docs and should allow users to easily upload and notify, to view documents online, add comments and notes and allows you to download a copy of the file.
The bad part however, is that Steve plans to capitalize on the job and won’t offer it free like Sergey and the gang. No word on price yet, but we’re not really excited for something that will require money … [via Engadget]

Though it looks a lot like a portable drinking bottle, what you see here is the ultra stylish Iomega eGo 320 GB rugged portable hard drive. Using a USB 1.1/2.0 power cable to connect to your laptop or computer (no external power needed), the 2.5-inch super compact device is extremely durable because it uses the patent pending DropGuard technology.
It comes packed with a free EMC Retrospect HD backup software license, has an 8MB buffer size, rotates at 5,400 and only weighs 5.8 ounces. It sells on Amazon for some $102
. Fast, extremely durable and stylish, it looks like a real jewel of an external hard drive, don’t you think?
