Unable to Locate iTunes on Mac

It’s possible that you don’t have iTunes installed on your Mac. To install iTunes, open the App Store and search for “iTunes”. Once you find it, click the “Get” or “Download” button to download and install iTunes. If you already have iTunes installed but can’t find it, make sure it is not hidden in your Dock. If you still can’t find it, try searching for “iTunes” in Spotlight (the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner of your screen). If that doesn’t work, you may need to reinstall iTunes.

Replacement for iTunes on Macbook

With the introduction of macOS Catalina, Apple has ended its support for iTunes on Mac and replaced it with three separate apps: Music, Podcasts, and Apple TV. Music is the replacement for iTunes’ music library management capabilities. Podcasts will manage your podcast subscriptions and downloads. Finally, Apple TV is a dedicated app for streaming TV shows and movies. Furthermore, Finder can be used to manage your iPhone, iPad, and iPod devices easily.

Transferring an iTunes Library to Apple Music

Yes, you can transfer your iTunes library to Apple Music. To do so, simply turn on Sync Library on your Mac, PC, iPhone, or iPad. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be able to access all of your music libraries on any device with the Apple Music app. All you have to do is make sure that the device is signed in with the same Apple ID associated with your Apple Music subscription.

Installing iTunes on a Mac Monterey

Unfortunately, iTunes is not supported on macOS 10.15 Catalina or later, i.e. Big Sur or Monterey. However, you can still access and manage your music library in the Music app on your Mac Monterey.

To do this, open the Music app and click File > Library > Import Playlist. Then select the iTunes library file to add it to your Music app. You will be able to access all of your music and playlists that were in iTunes via the Music app on Mac Monterey.
Additionally, you can use other Apple apps such as Apple Podcasts for podcasts and Apple TV for movies and TV shows that were previously available in iTunes on macOS 10.14 Mojave or earlier versions of macOS.

Accessing iTunes on a Mac

To open iTunes on your Mac, you can use the Finder app. First, click on the magnifying glass icon in the far top right corner of your screen. Then, type “iTunes” into the search bar that appears. Alternatively, you can click on the Launchpad icon (the rocket ship) in your Dock, which is usually located at the bottom of your screen, and then find and select iTunes from there. Once iTunes is open, you can log into your Apple ID account if prompted, and browse or purchase music, movies, and more!
