Google Maps will Soon Push Alerts to Let You Get Off at the Right Bus/Train Stop

Google Maps is about to roll out yet another handy feature to aid its users with navigation. A new update is now being planned for the app to provide users with live guidance and interactive real-time notifications during their transit journey in a bus or train.

As a part of it, the app will incorporate a new Start button that will be available at the bottom of the screen. Details about the transit journeys of the user will be provided in addition to offering live updates throughout your journey.

Google Maps will also remind users to get off the train or bus when the users gets close to their destination stop. This should come handy for all those travelling by bus or train in an unfamiliar location or in case they doze off during the journey.

In addition to displaying the notifications to the notification bar, Google Maps will also display the notifications on the lock screen so that you doesn’t miss them. Additionally, these notifications will also be made interactive to let users take a look at the coming stations or stops.

Google’s new feature comes as a part of its measure to make the app come handy for all sorts of travel. The update will help transit notifications become more like using the app for walking or driving. Recently, Google Maps have also introduced motorcycling section to users of select market that provides additional shortcut routes for a journey. The feature is being currently tested, and is expected to be official in the coming update.
