Instagram Celebrates Milestone Success of Stories with New Replay Feature

Photo-hosting social app Instagram has just added a new feature to its much celebrated Stories feature. With the new addition, users will now be able to upload live videos and let them be playable through replays in their Stories for up to 24 hours.

The feature will help expand the reach of live videos as prior to the update, all live videos were made to disappear once the stream gets finished. Instagram kept off any save options to bring in the spontaneous and raw feel that would compel users to watch the video urgently.

Instagram is giving up on that now however to let more of your friends and followers catch up on what they missed. The feature is available in v10.26 of the app that is available now on the App Store and Google Play for iOS and Android respectively.

Videos aren’t allowed to replay by default in Instagram. Users can enable the replays of live videos by clicking a share button that will appear at the bottom of your screen once the live stream is finished. A toggle option is also provided to follow the normalcy and skip providing any replays for the live videos.

The announcement also coincides with the celebration of 250 million daily users on Instagram Stories as announced by the company. The feature earlier achieved the landmark of 200 million users back in the month of April and 150 million users in January this year.

Stories was launched last year to take on rival app Snapchat which has daily user count of only around 170 million. Given that numbers, Instagram has indeed managed to surpass what they have aimed for. But it still won’t put a lull to the upgrades, as they are constantly trying to sharpen the Stories with new features.
