Social Networking platform Facebook has never been strange to games. It has always offered players to engage in even player-to-player battles. But almost all of them have been carved out for being used across PC platforms. Now, the company is planning to expand its gaming expedition.

The company has launched its new initiative called Instant Games, which is now being rolled out to 30 countries through Facebook and Messenger platforms. With the new feature, users will be able to access and play games without being redirected to any external page. The simple HTML 5 based Instant Articles will open games within the Messenger app, and under the News Feed section in the parent app.

A total of seventeen games are available with Instant Games at present. The introductory batch also includes some of the arcade classics like Pac-Man and Space Invaders. We can expect more to be rolled out in the coming times, as Facebook has already tied up with many developers like Zynga (ZNGA), Activision’s (ATVI) King Digital unit, Bandai Namco and Konami. Besides, the Instant Game feature is also receiving a big funding from studio Big Viking Games.

Instant Articles currently doesn’t come monetized with in-app purchases or ads. But it should soon introduce the options according to Messenger chief David Marcus. The company is also aiming to have the Instant Games popularized through the News Feed shares. Users can still access the games from the Instant Games available in Facebook app. In Messenger, this is coupled with a new game controller icon inside the app.

At present, the Instant Games feature is available only for direct testers. According to the words from developers, Instant Game has also been offering adequate graphics. Let’s wait to see when it will be rolled out globally for the public.
