Qualcomm has just revealed some glimpses of its new Snapdragon 835 processor that will arrive by first half, next year. Alongside, the chip manufacturer has also revealed its upgraded charging technology, the Quick Charge v4.0 that will be paired with the new SoC.

Like promised, Qualcomm has managed to offer a faster charging technology in the new Quick Charge 4.0 as compared to its predecessor. Alongside, it also offers a better control of heat. Qualcomm says that the charging speed has been increased by 20%, at a temperature 5degree Celsius cooler than the Quick Charge 4.0.

The percentage bump of 20% itself looks a good addition. But to make the picture clearer, the new charging technology will provide five hours of charge to your devices with a charging duration of five minutes. That’s the quickest we can think of at this moment.

For longer charges, Qualcomm assures that 50% charge can be accomplished within just 15 minutes. The given duration is for a device with 2750 mAh battery. So it can vary in case you have bigger battery devices.

QuickCharge 4.0 will be arriving with the new Snapdragon 835 flagship chipset, which itself has been revealed with some impressive overhauls. The SD 835 SoC will be the company’s first 10-nm chip, and it is being designed confirming to the Google’s Nougat specifications for USB Type-C. According to the company claims, SD 835 will offer 27% percent better performance and 40percent less power consumption over its current flagship, Snapdragon 821, with over 30% new parts in the new SoC.

Snapdragon 835 is likely to make its debut in smartphones during March this year, most possibly with the Galaxy S8 flagship from Samsung.
