Apple Watch Pre-order Figures Pecking the One-Million Mark

Apple Watch has been making the news over the recent few weeks. And it’s now getting paid off well.

The Cupertino-based company on Friday, commenced pre-orders for their new device and the estimates echo a wide anticipation for the device.

The numbers are humungous, raking up around one million orders from the US. The numbers were estimated by collecting the e-receipt data from over 9,000 online shoppers.

Around 957,000 have made the pre-orders in the US alone, of which more than half placed the orders for the cheaper version.

Apple will be launching three models of the Apple Watch, from which the low priced Apple Watch Sport received around 62% of the pre-orders. It’s available for prices starting from $350 in the market, while the prices rake up to $17,000 for the gold plated Apple Watch Edition.

Apple hasn’t revealed the pre-order data as of now, which hasn’t been the case with their previous launches. Friday sales have seen the company releasing the figures post the following weekend.

Apple will start the shipping of their smartwatches by April 24th. It’s expected that around 10 million units of Apple Watch will be having its sale across the globe this year. However, reports also suggest of struggle inside the company to cope-up with the pre-order hits.

Apple had its devices sold out in the pre-order under just six hours in the opening day. Orders which were placed post the period would be handed with the device only by the month of June.

However, Apple says that it may ship the second batch earlier than expected, but didn’t confirm so to keep out of any false guarantee.
