Electric Batpod on eBay: Time for Some Crime Busting?

October 17, 2013, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

How about a bout of crime busting around your neighborhood?  If lack of mobility and some amount of paraphernalia are forcing you to stay put, you needn’t worry anymore.

For, eBay has an amazing offer up for you! How about browsing through some stuff on the e-tailer website now? We say now, because there isn’t much time left for you to keep on thinking.

Okay, what we are talking about is an electric Batpod, which is equipped for crime busting expeditions. The vehicle, a custom made 2002 Harley Davidson V-Rod, has been altered in such a way that it can offer shotgun-shooting, flame-throwing properties.

The vehicle which used to sport a twin-cylinder in its 2002 Harley Davidson V-Rod  life, now has an AC unit from HPEVS, along with a Curtis controller so that it offers 65 horsepower and 82 pound-feet of torque. Regenerative braking is yet another feature, which recharges the battery pack a bit too.

As many as eight AGM lead-acid batteries provide the power to run the vehicle. If you are potential buyer, you might want to check through the minute of details the deal is offering. You need to head here for the e-tailer page where the seller has put up all the info about the vehicle.

When we say shot gun shooting and flame throwing properties, do not think they come along with the vehicle. This is what the eBay page says:

Although the flamethrowers and cannons are in a fully authentic & operable state as pictured, the cannon trigger breach blocks and flamethrower pressure release valves are NOT INCLUDED as part of this sale listing. Without these components, the weapons are INOPERABLE. These INOPERABLE weapons that are included as part of this specific sale are to be considered as DECORATION ACCESSORIES ONLY. …..BUT…..  If the BUYER wishes to take possession of the cannon trigger breach blocks and flamethrower pressure valves (required to make the weapons operable), then he must contact the SELLER and ask that these parts be donated and shipped separately (for free). The BUYER is under NO OBLIGATION to take possession of these extra parts.

So that makes it clear. You may want to take a look at the videos we have for you here and here, and then decide whether you need to go for it.

The offer price is $27,500. Go for it if you love some adventure.

[Editor note: Many states will not permit the “attachments” to be operational. You will probably need to register and pay the federal AOW (Any Other Weapon) taxes. Consult a firearms attorney in your state for details.]
