Everything Everywhere 3G Sharing for Orange and T-Mobile UK Customers

October 11, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Everything Everywhere will switch on their signals to all Orange and T-Mobile customers, starting next week. The service will bring in 3G sharing to about 27 million people. The 3G switch-on will take place region by region over the next few months.

Customers have been able to use both networks for 2G voice and text services, but only their host network for 3G.  For those who want their daily data fix, the sharing of 3G infrastructure will sure be more beneficial.

Olaf Swantee, CEO of Everything Everywhere, has been quoted as saying that providing more things to more people in more places than any other company inBritainis a significant achievement and demonstrates the latest milestone in their network vision and customer promise.

With this move in the big switch on network revolution plan, customers will be able to talk from places they weren’t able to before, and they can access internet or download emails at improved speeds in more places.

Orange and T-Mobile customers have to opt-in following an alert via text message, and enabling roaming in the settings on their phone to enable sharing. They will not be charged more for using the other brand’s network.
