Fifteen billion and counting! That’s the scene at Apple’s App Store at the moment. We believe Cupertino is sailing high with numbers stating that the App Store for iOS devices has surpassed 15 billion downloads,  paid out over $2.5 billion to developers and sold over 200 million iOS devices. Doesn’t that indeed sound awesome?

It has been revealed that more than 15 billion apps have been downloaded from the App Store. iFans who own iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices have gone on a shopping spree and the numbers show just that. With more than 425,000 apps available, the numbers are sure to zoom as days go by.

Cupertino’s enthusiasm is clear when Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, says:

“In just three years, the revolutionary App Store has grown to become the most exciting and successful software marketplace the world has ever seen… Thank you to all of our amazing developers who have filled it with over 425,000 of the coolest apps, and to our over 200 million iOS users for surpassing 15 billion downloads.”

The new landmark takes Apple’s App Store to greater heights. Being compared with the iTunes Music Store as of now, the App Store is having a dream run.

Are you one of those innumerable shoppers who would do anything to find time to go shopping at the App Store?
