February 2, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

So much has been written about the Motorola Xoom tablet and the latest buzz talks of an imminent release date. If the rumors turn real, the Android 3.0 Honeycomb powered tablet will land on our palms this month itself.  Now that indeed is good news, but then we wish Motorola told us an exact date. Speculations however have started flowing in, with one of them even putting the date at February 17.

The 10.1-inch Xoom is ready for roll out, as you all know. The February launch schedule thus makes us feel that Motorola is looking at beating rivals, who have been readying their  Honeycomb tablets for release, by a mile.

The Android 3.0 Honeycomb is one much sought after software these days and when the Xoom promises to come with the OS, there isn’t any doubt about the excitement that could build up this February.  In case you didn’t know, Google has already started sending out invitations for the release of the Honeycomb OS.

The February release of the Motorola Xoom will also mean that the company will get a month’s headstart and score against its rivals for pushing out the tablet much ahead of their plans.  It is being said that notebook and smartphone companies are now busy lining up alterations in their devices so as to incorporate Android 3.0.  Among them are HTC, Samsung, LG, RIM, Acer, Asus, and Toshiba.

Tell us if you have decided to part with some of your savings to own the Motorola Xoom as soon as it comes. Also, do not forget to scribble down your thoughts on the Xoom and Honeycomb in the space below.
