LG Optimus T Android Handset Targets Budget Conscious Customers

LG has introduced a new addition into its Optimus line-up (which also includes the Chic, One and S variant), the Optimus T Android handset. The device, which is aimed at budget-conscious customers, will be a T-Mobile exclusive with launch date expected near the holiday season.

The entry-level handset will be coming equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and video recording. Although many of the latest entry-level Android handsets will be arriving in the market with Android 2.1, the Optimus T will be running the latest v2.2 Froyo operating system.

Users will get access to the latest Android features, including Voice actions for spoken commands. The device will also have a 2GB microSD card for media storage.

LG has not announced a full set of specs for the Optimus T. The housing of the device appears to be similar in design to that of the Optimus One, which features a 320×480 touchscreen, 600MHz processor, 7.2Mbps 3G, GPS, and WiFi connectivity. The Optimus T might also come with similar features.

The pricing of the device is also not available at the moment, but the similar Optimus T is headed to Sprint for $50 with a contract.
