Close on the heels of the UK launch, Sony Ericsson has brought its new Aino smartphone on to Sony Style stores and the online mart so that enthusiasts from the US too can pick it up. The phone maker has said that its Aino multimedia unlocked mobile phone with enhanced entertainment features and touch screen technology have gone on sale in the United States. The 3G-enabled smartphone comes with a $600 price tag –  $599.99 to be precise.

The Aino is an 8.1-megapixel smartphone with a 3-inch 432 x 240 touchscreen, WiFi, 3G (UMTS 850/1900/2100) and Bluetooth. Further, the phone maker has thrown in features such stereo Bluetooth hands-free kit, 8GB memory card, USB cable, the desk-stand/charger and a separate charger.

Thanks to the PS3 integration, users can also log on to features that offer entertainment and rich multimedia while on the move. The phone maker has deployed functions such as photo capture, music, videos and ability to access PlayStation content.

Other usual features include Wi-Fi connectivity, touch screen display, Stereo Bluetooth headphones and 8GB microSD memory card, plus a USB connector cable.  The phone’s media browser offers 3D navigation and an easy to use key pad.

The Media Go application incorporated into the device makes it possible for users to organize media stored on a PC and transfer it to the Aino smartphone. You will also be able to transcode movies for your phone.

By the looks of it, the Aino smartphone comes across as a complete device from Sony Ericsson. For a cool $600, it is likely to be picked up fast.
