Nokia Booklet 3G Netbook Announced [Prices and Release Date to be Confirmed]

August 24, 2009, By Atul Roach

Defining this one categorically can be a heck of a problem. Nokia has finally revealed its much-anticipated (we were still anticipating) Booklet 3G. While some are defining it as the Nokia 3G Booklet netbook, we prefer to stay on the safer side and call it what Nokia calls it-the 3G Booklet.

We agree that it has an Intel Atom Processor and a fairly smallish 10.1-inch display to make it basically qualify as a netbook but, the other specifications are very unlike a netbook, for instance the display comes with a superior resolution quality.

Never has a netbook supported 3G wireless and housed a hot-swappable SIM card. A netbook never runs on Windows Seven either, but whatever this Booklet is, we are more than impressed.

It does offer GPS Navigation with A-GPS and a record of the Ovi Maps, HDMI output, WiFi, Bluetooth and a stunning 12-hours of battery life.

With its sophisticated aluminum chassis and a meager 2cm thickness, Nokia has managed to keep the weight down to 1.25kg. The pricing and release date is not yet available and hopefully that will be announced at the Nokia World 09 on September 2. [via: Engadget]
