The upcoming Verizon version of the Google Nexus One will have HTC’s proprietory ‘Sense’ UI enhancement applied on it. This comes from the online equipment guide at Verizon. It says that the phone along with switching to CDMA, will also use HTC’s own custom interface and not the plain Android 2.1 . Sense UI for Android 2.1 brings in a lot of enhancements such as an all-at-once view of the homescreens, new widgets, multitouch inputs and more.
MobileMag says the phone will be releasing on March 23rd, but this is not confirmed.

Verizon Wireless is one of the carriers going full speed ahead with the initial tests and deployment of their high speed 4G network in the US. According to Verizon CTO Anthony Melone, the carrier’s first 4G handsets should be hitting the stores sometime in middle of 2011. Initially the Long Term Evolution ( LTE ) 4G network will be used by pure-data devices such as USB modems and data cards.

The phones will be coming around a year after the network itself goes live, but will still be six months ahead of the earlier predicted timeline. The phones are expected to have both CDMA and LTE chipsets as coverage will be small at first with the subscribers requiring to have legacy chipsets to access the network outside coverage areas.

A couple of moths back when the Palm Pre Plus broke cover at the CES 2010 and was later endorsed by Big Red in the US, it was one of the most talked about phones. In a matter of months, the Pre Plus has become more of a disposition item for VZW as it wants to get rid of the Pre Plus at the lowest possible costs. Initially, the Palm Pre Plus webOS laden device cost $149.99 after a $100 mail-in-rebate on the Verizon website.

To attract more customers, VZW even floated the BOGO offer where the Pre Plus could be taken for free on the Pixi Plus purchase. The current listed price for the VZW Palm Pre Plus is a shocking $30 which tells you the entire story.
