Motorola was pretty vocal about its idea of launching three different Android devices for the three Canadian telecommunication giants and the row has finally been completed with Rogers getting the Motorola Quench. It seldom happens that Canada gets handsets bearing their European names but the Quench has done so, ignoring the Cliq XT American nomenclature.

Talking about the US customers, it is being hoped that T-Mobile will release it as the Cliq XT (of course) but, when will the eighth Motorola Handset be available still remains to be explored’.

At this year’s CeBIT tradeshow in Hanover, Germany, the folks from Nokia took the wraps off the first C-series mobile phone, the new Nokia C5. Although the Finnish manufacturer would like to call it a smartphone, despite its features the Nokia C5 isn’t quite there. Speaking of specifications, we’re hearing that the phone has a 2.2-inch non-touchscreen display, 2GB of built-in storage space and that it runs Symbian S60 third edition.

A new FCC filing has provided more strength to talk on Microsoft’s Project Pink phone project. Significantly, this comes just as a few days after regulatory passage of the PB10ZU from Sharp. Close on the heels of the device expected to be the pebble-shaped Turtle comes the latest filing, for the PB20ZU. And, the latest FCC filing correlates with the second design.
