Samsung has said that the new app stores in Brazil and China come as part of its global expansion plans. The new stores are to come up by the month-end.

The Omnia II was delayed quite a lot, but it’s finally been released and is now available from Verizon Wireless – and just in time too, as the Christmas shopping has begun and everyone is busy looking for the perfect gift. This is Verizon’s second device to use Windows Mobile 6.5 after the HTC Imagio.

Verizon Wireless will debut the Samsung Omnia II on its network on December 2. To be priced at $199.99, after a $100 mail-in rebate, the phone will be offered with a two-year agreement. The handset, a full-touch all-in-one smartphone, will come powered by Windows Mobile 6.5.

If last month we caught wind that Verizon is going to bring the new Samsung Omnia II to their network, today we can finally confirm it that the US carrier has set a release date for the handset on December 2nd. Priced at $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate, Big Red’s version of the Omnia II should bring a rather large 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED display, has 8GB of built-in memory and a microSD card slot for up to 32GB of memory.

It’s a fact that the new Verizon Samsung Omnia II is going to be released soon, but a release date hasn’t been confirmed yet. However, a leaked page on Samsung USA have shown that the Windows Mobile-based SCH-I920 Omnia II superphone comes with a bunch of upgrades.
We’re talking about the shield design that forgets the distinctive cubic d-pad we’ve been used with. Other than that, it’s also coming with a more powerful 1500 mAh/Li-ION battery that gives some extra juice for those with frisky fingers. The biggest drawback however, it seems to be running WinMo 6.1 …

This has to be the phone of the month that comes through the FCC approval format. The Samsung Omnia II GT-i8000 has passed the FCC requisite standards with AT&T and the Canadian Rogers supportive bands but, we do not know as yet whether any of the two is ready to offer the latest Omnia.

Beginning with the connectivity choices, it offers support for dualband 850/1900MHz, GSM/EDGE data, 3G HSDPA and HSUPA version. The regularities include a 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED resistive touchscreen with a 5MP auto-focus camera backed by LED flash.
