Some rumors have been going around about a new device by Apple – and although rumors don’t always come out true, this one has quite a lot of hints behind it to back it up. The first thing which sprung up people’s attention is the fact that Apple have apparently owned the domain iSlate.com since 2007.

RIM have been quite active in making improvements to their QWERTY phones lately, so it shouldn’t really surprise anyone that they’re also looking to tweak their Pearl line of phones. Recently, Crackberry have managed to get their hands on some leaked pictures showing the new BlackBerry Pearl 9100, which has been given the production name “Striker”. From the pictures, we can see an improved SureType keyboard, as well as a standard optical joystick.

Barnes and Noble has been known to be working on an ebook reader to compete with Amazon’s Kindle ever since it came out. Some details about this device has been leaked and it is supposed to go on sale next Tuesday.

Similar to Spring Design’s Alex reader which was announced yesterday, the Barnes and Noble ‘Nook’ will have two screens. A monochrome e-ink display for showing the text and a multi-touch color iPhone-like LCD below it which also acts as a keyboard. The Nook will run on Google’s versatile Android operating system, which incidentally also powers the Spring Design “Alex”

It’s raining cellphones at the Verizon camp and if the Razzle and the more attractive Imagio were not enough for the coming days, we now have news that even the Android based Motorola Tao will arrive at Verizon next week. Wondering where the ‘Tao’ Android phone came from all of a sudden, just to refresh your memories, Tao is another name for the Motorola Sholes.

The SEGA Dreamcast was a gaming console that created ripples in the gaming world exactly ten years ago on this day. The Dreamcast gave gaming a new life, something which was only a part of fantasy until its release. After the release of the Dreamcast, SEGA somewhat isolated this console as no upgraded variant was ever released unlike other gaming consoles that kept getting remodeled.

Although there is no official confirmation of the Dreamcast 2 from SEGA but, the fanatics still aspire for a Dreamcast console and who knows SEGA might surprise us today.
09/09/09 will be the perfect date for a release for not many would forget it. Sadly, SEGA has always denied the Dreamcast 2 but it interestingly bought a lot of floor pads and flash memory cards a couple of years back. To add fuel to fire, last year SEGA added a lot of video games to its lineage. SEGA would have never purchased so much raw material after committing that it will not go back to manufacturing hardware video gaming consoles.
There is still plenty of time before the day ends and we are eagerly waiting for an announcement that surprises us like never before. Come on SEGA, it is 09/09/09, the ideal chance! [via: Lazygamer]

It’s a weekend, I know, but could Sony really be working on a new Vaio TT ultraportable laptop that should be very fast thanks to a Centrino 2 processor. Rumors so far (!pdf link), indicate that the company is planning an upgrade on its Vaio TZ series and that the TT could be released tomorrow (Monday).

Though we don’t have a specs list, we used common sense and think that it will most likely include 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and optional 3G access over EVDO. Don’t know if it will sport HSDPA or not, but rest assured that the new 11.1-inch screen full-powered Vista notebook will be properly geared on the same lightweight chassis as the sexy Vaio TZ series.
I’m really waiting for something from Sony tomorrow, but meanwhile I’m curious if there’s a connection with Audi’s TT and Sony’s Vaio TT other than looking gorgeous.
