In the battle of the eBook reader giants, like Amazon with its Kindle and Barnes & Noble with their “Nook”, Sony is indicating that they are not out of the game yet, but putting up their 3G enabled Sony Reader Daily Edition for pre-order @ $399 from SonyStyle.com . The e-reader joins the other devices in the series, the Reader Pocket Edition and Reader Touch Edition and comes with a 7-inch touchscreen display.
The Reader Daily Edition is also capable of internet connectivity via AT&T’s 3G mobile broadband network for the users to browse, purchase and read books and magazines on the go. Some select newspapers will also be available on the reader. The wireless connectivity is available free of charge and you can also load content through USB. Sony will announce their magazine and newspaper content provider partners within the next month.
The Motorola Droid saga is not yet over. After seeing the Droid’s full specs and pricing details, more good news came our way today when we heard Best Buy will have the Android-powered handset available for pre-order at $199.99. More to it, they’ve worked on an automate mail-in rebate which means that if you pre-order it with Best Buy you’ll be avoiding all those hassles about mail-in rebates from Verizon, but still have to sign a new two years contract with Big Red.
Guess what is hotter than Harry Potter on the Amazon Pre-Order List? Windows 7 would have never been the answer given the fact Windows Vista earned itself a bed in the flophouse. Yet, to everyone’s surprise, it is Windows Seven (Windows Vista upgrade) that has set a new record on the Amazon per-order list whiffing past the Harry Potter movies, books and the rest of the collection.
As far as comparing Vista and Windows 7 goes, the orders that were booked for the upgrade in the first eight hours were more than the order for Windows Vista in its entire pre-order period.
