Nikon D700 replacement, D700x or D800 spotted during tests

The Nikon D700 was a camera that leaked countless times on the web before it made it to the market and that is what has made Nikon careful about its replacement which will probably be called the D700x or D800. So much has been the degree of secrecy maintained that not even a single spec about the D700 sequel is known and the experts have only been able to anticipate 720p video addition and that too because almost every other current Nikon DSLR has that feature.

Interestingly, photographers testing the sequel have been spotted in London and in Olympics host Vancouver, and the one caught in Vancouver took refuge in the crowd on realizing that he was being snapped.

Nikon’s D3x 24-Megapixel DSLR

Nikon D3x is the company’s long rumored 24-megapixel DSLR that got busted by Bristol Pete last Friday. I’m not sure how much to trust off of “Went to dinner with Nikon this week. The Nikon D3X is due in December 08″ but we’re prepared to give it a warm welcome.

Using the same massive full frame sensor in Sony’s A900, but probably with a changed name and maybe some revisions. It’s not the first time, rumors have gone wild when it comes to Nikon and their DSLRs so I’m not sure if that’s part of their marketing plan or if it’s really going on sale from December. For those racing the megapixels, the new Nikon D3x may be the right thing to wait for. No word on price yet!- via Photography Bay
