Are you in the market for a new Apple machine but you don’t know when the new MacBook Pro, Air and Mac Pro will be arriving, here’s an update that has both good and bad. An Apple ad has been spotted on Australian website PC Authority detailing pricing for its new flagship mobile and desktop computers.
Why is that bad? Because from what we can see, they will cost more than previous models. And why is that good? It definitely hints to a sooner debut on the market.

Intel have announced their intentions to expand their line of Arrandale processors with three new additions, and the release date has been stated to be January 3rd. The processors will use the high-end Nehalem architecture, which is already being used in some of Mac’s desktop computers, released earlier this year. The new processors, titled the Core i5 and Core i7, are reported to have a significant performance gain over the Core 2 Duo, which is currently used in the MacBook Pro.

Crazy Deals

It can’t get crazier than this. The ongoing Black Friday sale is seeing a mega price war that could drive you nuts. If you are someone who has been dreaming of owning Apple Macs, this is your chance. What we get to hear is that an Apple reseller, an authorized one at that, has wielded the axe on the Mac Pro prices, bring it down by – believe it or not – $300. The iMac, in the meanwhile, has seen prices tumble by around $180.

Word was that Apple was working to refine the 17-inch MacBook Pro. And they did. During the MacWorld Keynote speech, they announced the world’s thinnest and lightest 17-inch laptop in the world, that should be packing a ultra-thin, widescreen glossy 1920 x 1200 display, runs on a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 6MB L2 cache, has 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 memory and allows users to switch between the integrated Nvidia GeForce 9400M and the GeForce 9600M GT that has 512MB or RAM.

Other than the goodies above, for $2,799 it also includes a 320GB 5,400 rpm hard drive (320GB 7200 rpm hard drive and 128GB and 256GB solid state drives as options), three USB 2.0 ports, a slot-loading SuperDrive, a FireWire 800 port, an ExpressCard/34 expansion card slot and a much much better battery (95WHr lithium polymer battery) that is expected to “deliver up to eight hours of use on a full charge cycle and up to 1,000 recharges”.
And just in case you were wondering, there are options for a 2.93 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor or for the 8GB 1066 MHz DDR 3 memory. All you need is money.
