LG Display’s new Capacitive In-Cell Multi-Touch LCD panel has been given the go ahead by Microsoft with a Windows 7 Touch Logo certification. The 13.3-inch panel, that comes across a perfect fit for laptops with multi-touch functions that enable simultaneous recognition of two touch points, has in-cell touch sensor embedded in the display. The sensors have been built into the panel.

The Apple Tablet PC will have to wait, or so it seems. The PC maker is likely to put off the launch to sometime around the second half of next year. Apple had been planning to bring the device to the market by the March of 2010.

South Korean major LG Display has brought out a new lightweight solar cell capable of recharging the batteries of an electronic reader. The IMID trade fair underway in Seoul saw the solar cell on display. The new cell could be seen as a boon to your extended hours of e-book use outdoors.

LG Display has put on show a prototype that combines LG Display’s solar cell and e-book Sony Reader. Significant about the new special lightweight solar cell is the fact that around five hours of exposure to sunlight would stretch the e-book battery by at least a day’s time.
