Even as the Verizon Droid Eris by HTC and the BlackBerry Curve 8530 continue stay on top by grabbing headline space, the carrier has announced two new LG and Samsung smartphones, with a promise to add to the lure. While the LG Chocolate Touch comes with a 3.2-megapixel camera, FM radio and stereo Bluetooth support, the Samsung Convoy boasts of EVDO Rev.A, a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.1, Push-to-Talk (PTT) and an integrated stereo speaker.

The LG Chocolate Touch smartphone is reported to release within the next two weeks. It was recently featured in Verizon’s Holiday Lineup list and retail stores should be getting stocks soon. This is coming on the heels of the Verizon Motorola Droid release on November 6.

It packs a 3.2 megapixel camera, WVGA touchscreen, EVDO Rev 0 connectivity, standard 3.5mm headset jack and an HTML Web Browser. It is an average smartphone, but its old OS will look dead next to Droid’s Android.
