Motorola was pretty vocal about its idea of launching three different Android devices for the three Canadian telecommunication giants and the row has finally been completed with Rogers getting the Motorola Quench. It seldom happens that Canada gets handsets bearing their European names but the Quench has done so, ignoring the Cliq XT American nomenclature.

Talking about the US customers, it is being hoped that T-Mobile will release it as the Cliq XT (of course) but, when will the eighth Motorola Handset be available still remains to be explored’.

Motorola has lifted the wraps off its eighth Android smartphone. Christened the Quench (a.k.a. Cliq XT), the new handset runs the version 1.5 of Android and is expected to be available for you to pick up by the first quarter of 2010 itself. To be known as Cliq XT in the US telecom market place, the handset will be launched on the T-Mobile USA market by next month .
Most projectors you see nowadays have a conventional halogen incandescent lamp in them ( that is the fancy name for a light bulb ). Now they may be damn bright but they also big on power consumption, using a large part of the power supplied just for heating up. LED lighting is being promoted as the savior in this scenario and is already becoming popular in several applications.

Planar Systems have announced their new Q-750i and Q-750d projectors which will have LED lighting in them. This gives multiple advantages. For one, the power consumption is said to be up to 70% lesser than their halogen-bulb counterparts. LEDs are also supposed to offer better contrast. All this comes at a price though, with the Q-750i priced at $14,995 and the Q-750d at $17,995.
More details below the cut.

After only one week from the light bulb ban in Europe, authorities and retailers have found that it’s pretty hard to kill old habits fast.
In an effort to combat global warming via energy saving, the light bulb ban is forbidding Edison’s traditional filament, incandescent bulbs from being bought by retailers — although old stock may be sold until it’s gone, which are to replace them with compact fluorescent bulbs.

If you’re like us hating wires and trying to hide them the best you can, designer Sung-Pil Hwang came out with a pretty cool concept. Dubbed the “Plug-in Table”, it’s actually a cutting-edge perfectly positioned wall outlet that serves as a bookshelf, lamp (LED lit) and a gadget charger all-in-one. Not only a good looking piece of furniture, the table also proves to be functional by offering storage space for your books or magazines and other small objects. [via Gizmodo & Yanko]
