HP Slate demoed ; features Flash support with possible hardware acceleration

HP Slate , what is supposed to be the most probably competitor to Apple’s iPad was demoed here today at a rock concert, showing off Flash capability and running on Windows 7. We had seen it first when Steve Ballmer was waving it around at CES. Now a cool video has come out from Adobe showing off its Flash-compatibility as well as other features.

HP Mini 210 Vivienne Tam Edition Announced, Sports Cool Looks and Bright Colors

I wouldn’t buy something just based on its looks. I would rather get a drab-looking speed-demon of a gadget rather than some flashy gadget that doesn’t really do well in the specs department. But not everyone is like that. Many, usually females, go for gadgets not based on their specifications but based on their looks. It seems like HP wants to reach these people too. They have come out with a new designer version of their netbook, the HP Mini 210, designed by Vivienne Tam.

HP 12.1-inch EliteBook convertible tablet unveiled; to arrive in the US next month

Targeting the professionals on the move, HP has brought to the fore its new 12.1-inch EliteBook convertible tablet. The device satisfies all demands of professional use by incorporating a touch interface that will also work with pen that is included. The EliteBook 2740p tablet PC, as well as a non-tablet device called the EliteBook 2540p, offered by HP and are expected to start arriving in the US market next month.

HP Slate PC to Compete with Apple iPad 3G by Offering the ‘Better Priced’ Bait

The Apple iPad is scheduled for a release next month and it is sure to face some fierce competition from the HP Slate PC. HP intends to tighten the competitive noose furthermore by pricing the 3G laden, Windows 7 blessed, Slate PC, below the 3G version of the iPad which features a pretty similar spec sheet as the iPad. The Apple 3G enabled iPad will cost $629 and HP intends to price Slate PC below this mark.

HP officials are meeting in US and Taiwan to finalize the features and the pricing of the Slate PC within a matter of weeks.

HP TouchSmart 600 Quad Series Beefed Up with Intel Core i7 Options

For me, the all-in-ones are always better than a customary desktop and especially when you consider the HP TouchSmart 600 Quad series, there is hardly anything to argue. The processors in the previous variants were good enough to make the TouchSmart 600 perform well but, it seems that HP wasn’t itself convinced and hence it has released a beefed up version of the all-in-one.

The 23-inch all-in-one will now be available with 1.6GHz Core i7 720QM or 1.73GHz Core i7 820QM Intel quad-core processor options and the starting price for the unit will be $1,699.

HP Slate Tablet Makes New Video Appearance

Just one day ahead of Apple’s event where the company’s long awaited tablet is expect to make its debut, the folks from HP have released new images and a video with their gorgeous HP Slate, that is expected to be released later this year. In the video, HP CTO Phil McKinney talks about the history of the tablet and how the company developed around the concept of “rich media experience”, how the eReader prototypes looked some five years ago and what you should expect inside of this multitouch Windows 7 machine.
