The Tablet war is getting more intense by the day and it is no hidden fact that the Apple iPad will have to face some stiff competition from the likes of HP and now ‘even’ Dell with its Mini 5 Tablet dream project. The iPad will find it difficult to hold its share in the marketplace like it did with the iPhone because of the competition, and the Dell Mini 5 will also have a number of factors which make it competitive.

The primal one is the presence of Android Market applications which will help the Dell Mini 5 to offer apps such as the Amazon Kindle e-reader and viewer for Amazon’s video services.

Dell has finally understood that cutting down the size of its notebooks might just help the depleting sales count and it has introduced the latest member from the Precision series- M4500. The Precision 4500 shares many features with the 17-inch M6500 but it offers a smaller 15.6-inch screen for starters.

The 15.6-inch display has a 16:9 ratio and 1920 x 1080 resolution and the notebook features a choice of processors- Core i5 or Core i7. The graphics are taken care of by the NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800M or 880M chipsets.

Aright now Dell is claiming it to be the world’s thinnest commercial client laptop and although we are not sure that this category exists (for the statisticians), the all new Dell Latitude 13 laptop does look promising. Hailing from the famed Adamo design studio, Dell Latitude 13 does resemble the Vostro v13 but it belongs to the Latitude lineage, Dell’s premium business brand.

Latitude 13 targets the business travelers who prefer a gadget as thin as a netbook but definitely with a better processing unit. The metallic angles and the clean design profile Dell Latitude 13 maintains is reflective of the Adamo thin-and-light design scheme.

While the CES always brings great news for gadget lovers, they usually concern those living in the US for the most part – while those of us in other parts of the world need to wait for the hype to calm down so we can get some good news ourselves. UK residents will be glad to hear that two Android-based smartphones will soon be introduced in the country, though.

It’s been quite an informative day for Dell fans, as the company revealed a lot of new stuff. So far, we already knew that Dell are coming out with an Android handset called the Mini 3, and we also knew that AT&T is due to get a Dell handset. However, it wasn’t officially confirmed that the two events are related – and now it is, with Dell confirming that the Mini 3 is going to be available to AT&T customers.

Android phones will garner a major share of the AT&T services with the carrier announcing that it would sell smartphones running the Android mobile operating system by the second half of the year. The carrier will see at least five new smartphones that would run the Android mobile OS. These could include Dell’s upcoming smartphone, and also the devices being line up by Motorola and HTC.

What do you call a laptop that is oh-so-thin and fits the size range between a netbook and a notebook? Well, Dell calls it the Vostro V13. Dell’s new creation is just 13.3 inches and is easy to carry, in case you are a businessman on the go.
