The decision to make things official came close on the heels of a leak. T-Mobile will bring to customers the new HTC smartphone on March 24, and that date is just a few days away.

Do you ever expect an e-reader maker to make something out of its technology for the iPad? If you haven’t yet thought of such a possibility, here is something that can give you reasons to deliberate on. Barnes & Noble is, in fact, working on a B&N e-reader for iPad application.

Though iPad-maker Apple has not yet commented on the move, we hope that Apple may not say no to competition. But then, we will have to wait to know.

The e-book download business certainly seems to be run differently than its music download counterpart – at least if we take certain events as an indication, such as the latest announcement by Barnes & Noble. According to them, their B&N eReader app will be made available for Apple’s iPad sometime around the device’s launch.

The e-reader season is on and the number of companies readying their e-readers is on the rise. The latest to cling on to the bandwagon is Samsung, making the list even longer. With the announcement of Samsung’s e-reader, the company has joined the likes of Amazon, Sony and Barnes & Noble. But one aspect that keeps us thinking is the price tag.

The Nook, Barnes & Noble’s long awaited e-book reader, will soon be released to the public. It was supposed to be released right after New Year, but the huge demand caused B&N to delay the release with one week in order to produce enough to satisfy the public. The reader will be delivered to those who pre-ordered before November 20th somewhere around Christmas.

The Frankfurt Book Fair witnessed the unveiling of Ectaco’s second eBook reader. Christened jetBook Lite, the new eBook reader will soon hit stores in the United States and will sell for a price of just under $150.

What we like about the jetBook Lite is that it exactly knows what we want. Built to support a range of language options, be it English, German, Spanish, Russian, or Polish, the jetBook Lite is most likely to arrive at Barnes & Noble.

Barnes and Noble has been known to be working on an ebook reader to compete with Amazon’s Kindle ever since it came out. Some details about this device has been leaked and it is supposed to go on sale next Tuesday.

Similar to Spring Design’s Alex reader which was announced yesterday, the Barnes and Noble ‘Nook’ will have two screens. A monochrome e-ink display for showing the text and a multi-touch color iPhone-like LCD below it which also acts as a keyboard. The Nook will run on Google’s versatile Android operating system, which incidentally also powers the Spring Design “Alex”

Plastic Logic will lift the wraps off its first proReader on January 7, 2010. Tailor-made for professionals, the new QUE proReader with a touch screen interface is to arrive as an ultra-thin, ultra-light, wireless-enabled device.

To be more specific, the QUE proReader would be the size of an 8.5 x 11 inch pad of paper, less than 1/3-inch thick, and weighs much less than a normal mag. The device would boast of the largest screen, compared to what its peers have to show off.
