The Vostro 230 desktops and the S300w projector (pictured), which have been much discussed in various fora, have been pushed off the assembly line by Dell. While the S300w Short Throw Projector comes sporting capabilities that would display 3D images of up to 720p HD resolutions, the Vostro 230 desktop PCs have been offered as a Slim device along with another that sports the Mini Tower outlook. The two new products have launched this week with the price tags starting at $389 and $299 respectively for the Dell Vostro 230 Slim and Mini Tower. Meanwhile the S300w projectors can be made yours for $999.

Just a quick update for those who can’t wait to get their pre-order in for Apple’s iPad. While we knew for sure that it’s going to happen today March 12th, we couldn’t tell exactly when they’ll put the pre-orders page up. According to a company’s spokesman talking to TUAW, “customers can pre-order online at apple.com at 5:30am Pacific time on Friday, March 12″. That’s 8:30 in the morning for those on the East Coast.

Sling Media has finally arrived at the AT&T 3G shores with its mobile application for the iPhone dubbed the SlingPlayer Mobile which is a perfect dossier for TV fanatics. It is almost been an year that Sling Media first came up with a mobile TV version using WiFi but, things have finally been sorted out and the same service is now up for streaming through the AT&T 3G network.

The Nook, Barnes & Noble’s long awaited e-book reader, will soon be released to the public. It was supposed to be released right after New Year, but the huge demand caused B&N to delay the release with one week in order to produce enough to satisfy the public. The reader will be delivered to those who pre-ordered before November 20th somewhere around Christmas.

Microsoft have announced that starting today the new Zune HD is available for pre-order and should be shipped before September 15th. With HD radio, wireless sync, a touchscreen 16:9 OLED display, multi-touch, 10 hours of HD video storage and HD video-out, the new Zune HD is available on Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart and The Microsoft Store and should cost $219.99 for the black 16GB version and $289.99 for the “platinum” 32GB version.

Your HDTV has a new mate form Kodak…The Kodak Theatre HD Player is something that can be directly plugged to the HDTV to play a range of content that includes images, Video, podcasts, music and even content from the world wide web.

The plugging happens using either a WiFi or Ethernet connectivity.


Toshiba is done with all its denials regarding the Blu-ray player production and those submissive hints of late have turned fruitful. A local Japanese site has reported that Toshiba will have its BD-18 Blu-ray player released in Japan this year.
