Hope you would remember the 2009 acquisition of Flip by Cisco. The product profile was not much known, until now. A life-changing product is set for the roll out from the Cisco-Flip assembly line in the form of video camcorders. From what we manage to learn, Cisco will be unveiling a new series of Flip video cam next month. We might get to have a look at the new devices at the NAB show that is to get underway on April 12.
We cannot thoroughly call the latest Pentax release a camera for the common man, but whatever it is, the Pentax 645D Medium Format Camera deserves to be called a rugged beast.

The pros might find it more interesting given its pricing, but it is never too bad for a family that wants to get clicked through generations using the same Camera. I call it rugged to the core for it has a virtually indestructible chassis which is pretty evident in the images.

Here we go. The latest Panasonic creation comes as a pair. The two new devices, which come across as two new Micro Four Thirds cameras, have all in them to make you go for them. Among the two, The Lumix G2 comes boasting of a 3-inch touch-screen, and enables quick and intuitive focus settings just by way of a single touch. Meanwhile, the G10 may be seen as a budget alternative to the G2. The two new digital cameras have been officially announced and will be yours to pick very soon.

Somebody managing Panasonic’s website had an “accident” and somehow ended up posting specs and images of their upcoming G2 andG10 Micro Four Thirds cameras just long enough to be lapped up by some photography blogs. While there is no denying the authenticity of the pics, the specs may still be “works-in-progress”.

The much sought after Powershot range from Canon has got a sprucing up. The camera-maker has brought to the fore some exciting additions to the line up, with features that spell a never-before advantage. The most significant aspect is that the new Canon Powershot line up comes catering to all budgets.
Pentax has brought to the fore a successor to its Pentax X70. Christened X90, the most significant feature in the new model is the presence of a special Intelligent Zoom which can go up to 162.5x. What we find amazing is the claim by the camera maker that the Intelligent Zoom of up to that magnitude comes about without compromising on the optical performance. We think we should go for it, if that is true.

Earlier this month, Olympus had announced their new “budget” Micro Four Thirds camera – the new Olympus PEN E-PL1. It was the subject of a pretty bizzare teaser ad campaign that preceded it , and now it has gone on sale in the US. The 12.3 megapixel camera is now available at Amazon for $599.99 and comes with a 14-42 mm f/3.5-5.6 digital zoom lens.
