OnePlus, the Chinese smartphone maker, has already become a star in the Indian smartphone firmament, and has acquired a place ahead of compatriots. Latest news is that the smartphone giant is all set to try its hand in the smart TVs business.

Pete Lau, CEO, OnePlus had hinted at this at an official forum recently. Apart from smart devices, the company, as of now, offers a variety of headphones, mobile phone accessories, backpacks, caps, T-shirts for customers looking to buy such items.  The proposed launch of OnePlus TV, will allow the company to be part of the growing television market around the globe.

It is being said that the company aims to bring home entertainment to a greater level with the help of intelligent connectivity. In order to do this, a new device is under production and will come with a premium flagship design, image quality, and audio experience.

Another Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi had entered the smart TV business earlier this year, making OnePlus the second Chinese company to do so. With the high-quality product and hyper-aggressive pricing, the company was able to garner a place in the smart TV market in countries such as India.

The OnePlus team, believed to be experts in areas of software, hardware, design, product development, and delivering on the best possible smartphone user experience, would now channel efforts to bring in the same kind of expertise in the TV arena.

OnePlus has not revealed a timeline or features of the TV as the project is in its infancy. Following normal practice, the company has reached out to its 5 million users for feedback and suggestions on the product via its official forum.
