Vivo’s portfolio of budget smartphones is about to get expanded. The Chinese manufacturer will soon be launching the new Y81budget smartphone to expand the list of its budget offerings in India.

According to a report, the Y81 will be launched in the market by next week. It follows the launch of the Vivo Z10 smartphone, which was launched in the market two weeks ago. The Y81 will be priced at Rs 14,000 according to reports, and will feature modest specifications for its price range.

With a metal unibody design, the Vivo Y81 device features slimmer bezels on all sides of the display. The device has a 6.22 inch HD+ IP display that comes with a notch. Inside, it has a MediaTek Helio P22 processor that gets paired with 3 gigs of RAM. Storage capacity on board is 32 GB, and it can be increased to up to 256GB with the use of a microSD card.

On the camera front, the Vivo Y81 offers 13MP primary camera on the rear side with an aperture of f/2.2. The front side features a 5MP shooter. Interestingly, there is no fingerprint sensor packed on the device, though Vivo has loaded face unlock feature for quick unlocking. Battery capacity is of 3260 mAh, which should provide a strong backup for the device given the specifications. The device will run on Android 8.1 Oreo OS, which will have the Funtouch UI layered over it.

We hear the phone might carry a price tag of INR 14000, but we will have  to wait for a confirmation on that. Also, details regarding other variants will be known right next week when the device gets launched.
