In case you missed, Lenovo has become the first device maker to launch an Android Things-powered device with smart display.  The product is expected to pose huge competition for Amazon’s Echo Show.

The 8-inch model will be sold at a price of $199 while the 10-inch model will come at price tag of $249. The device features Google Assistant and it supports Google’s increasingly popular Chromecast sharing standard.

With a tablet like display and the whopping big speaker on its left hand side the device look a bit offbeat. The 8-inch model offers 1280×800 display while the 10-inch model comes with a high-definition 1920×1200 display.

Snapdragon 624 powers the device with 4 gigabytes of onboard storage and 2GB of RAM. The device comes with a 5 megapixel front camera, which can be covered with a built-in privacy shutter. Apart from this, the device offers connectivity options like WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth BT 4.2 LE.

Though these devices are used widely in the tech world, the rest of the market is new to them. Currently, Google is leading the global smartphone market with an Android variant. As opposed to Apple holding iOS and its variants for exclusive use, Amazon licenses its Alexa technology to third parties.
