Ever since the Mi 6X was launched in China, the anticipation was for the launch of the Android One version of it. Putting all those wait to end, Xiaomi has officially unveiled the Android One version of the Mi 6X, the Mi A2.

There is nothing much to differentiate in between the Mi A2 and Mi 6X device, except for that the former runs Android One OS, which guarantees a smoother experience and updates until Android Q next year to the least.

The Mi A2 sports a 6-inch FullHD+ LCD display on the front, and beneath the display is a Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor paired with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. On the storage front, the Mi A2 will be making its outing in 32GB and 64GB version for the 4GB models, and 128GB for the 6GB model.

Xiaomi also looks set to retain camera as the highlight of the device like it was with the Mi A1, the successor device that first packed the Android One OS. The Mi A2 will have a 12MP and 20MP camera setup on the rear-side that will be aided by AI for portrait shots. It also guarantees better capturing capability in low-lights thanks to its super-pixel technology used for the second lens. On the front side, the Mi A2 will pack a 20MP camera that will be paired with a front-facing flash. Other specifications include 3000 mAh battery, USB-C jack, 2.5D Gorilla Glass protection etc.

Along with the Mi A2, Xiaomi has also launched the Lite version of the device that comes with moderately scaled down specifications. The device comes with Snapdragon 625 SoC and will come out in two variants: 3GB +32GB and 4GB + 64GB. The device features a 5.84-inch 19:9 display that comes with a notch, and also has a better battery of 4000 mAh. The camera is scaled down to a dual-cam combo of 12MP/5MP for the rear side and 5MP camera for the front side.

Pricing for the Mi A2  starts at €249 for the 4GB/32GB version, and goes up to €349 for the 6GB/128GB version. The one with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM is priced at €279. As with the Lite version, the 3GB/32GB version is priced at €179, while the 4GB/64GB version comes priced at €229. The Mi A2 will be released first in Spain, but will soon arrive in around 40 markets including the ones where its successor was released.
