Dropbox Now Features a More Centralized Layout; More Teamwork Features Added

Dropbox is rolling out a major update for iOS and Android that with a focus on improving the user experience of the app. An updated version is now available on the respective app stores that brings with it several new features along with a new centralised layout.

One among the new features introduced is the file-activity, which although is exclusive to iOS right at the moment. Dropbox does promise to bring it to the Android platform in the coming days though. With the feature, users can make use of a new Activity button that’s available right below the preview of a file when clicked. Tapping the button will fetch the entire set of edit history of that particular document. You must make sure that you are either Professional or Business Advanced users if to enjoy this new feature.

Another handy introduction is the inclusion of teamwork feature, which makes sharing much easier for the app users. Sharing button can be used to send the important files to the required person or group of people. Users can also add comment lending feedback regarding project in the file preview. Team members can work according to the dropped feedback, and can also add additional comments as reply to those.

Last, the new version also brings a big change to the layout, particularly the Home Screen. The latter now gets more centralised with Starred and Recent files put under the same hood. There is also a new Gallery view that gives you thumbnail view instead of the mundane file list.

All the aforesaid features except the file activity are available for both iOS and Android, and you can start experiencing them right way by updating your app to the latest version from App Store or Google Play.
