LG G7 Render Images Once Again Showcases the Notch, but with a Thinner Chin

April 3, 2018, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

LG is serious about the G7, and equally serious with the notch. After reports of the death of G7 by recent leaks, it’s getting yet again confirmed that LG will push ahead with the notch for its G7 flagship.

New renders from OnLeaks and Mr. Phone are the ones that have yet again revealed the notch-love of LG. Although not much in detail, the CAD render do however gives a better and clearer view of the shape of the device and its display. Apparently, LG’s chin won’t be as big as expected, which should give it some edge. At present, it’s really hard to find a notch-Android sans the bottom chin. The chin in G7 isn’t completely absent however.

As with the notch, the leaks don’t much reveal about it as they showcase images with the display turned off. However, going by what we have, it appears like the earlier leaks would hold true in terms of notch design. With lesser complex sensors beneath the notch, LG has managed to cut down the width of the notch, though it needs to be seen as to how much they could reduce the notch width.

Amidst all the notch buzz is however a good news. Unlike many of the Android flagships, the G7 won’t be ditching the analog headset port as renders show a 3.5mm jack placed right on the bottom part of the device. Side to the jack is a down-firing speaker.

The video also provides a 360-degree view of the device, taking us through the back face of the device that houses the rear-cam on the centre. The dual-cam setup has got the two sensors packed linearly, with fingerprint sensors placed right beneath the camera arrangement.

There are still no words about the inside specifications, though we can largely expect that to be packing the flagship SD 845 SoC along with a RAM of 6 GB. As for the display, we will still have to see if LG will have the OLED display brought in to fill the six-inch space. LG is expected to launch the device by mid-2018.
