Seat First All-Electric Car by 2020; Might be Called E- Born

February 7, 2018, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Seat is all set to launch its first all electric car, which is rumored to be named Seat Born or Seat E- Born. The pictures of the vehicle, leaked online, reveal a stylish, angular, futuristic fashion hatchback. We hear the car will have more cabin space and will be of the size of a Leon.  This all electric car is expected to be out in the market by 2020.

According to AutoExpress, the slightly raised floor and roofline, exposed in the pictures, will accommodate the battery. Dr Matthias Rabe, Seat’s vice president for research and development has been quoted as saying that 95 per cent of the work on the E Born has been finished and the car will feature two power outputs.

The final version of the car may look different from what is seen in the pictures. The car which will be built on the VW Group’s electric MEB platform will cost around £25,000. The car will be software based, rather than being hardware based

The car is expected to be priced the same as that of an Ateca. The capability to add services and features through over-the-air updates is another interesting feature of Seat E Born. For example, you would be able to subscribe to updates which will improve performance. Doesn’t that sound great?
