Xiaomi Mi 7 May Hit MWC Podium with Wireless Charging Feature

After having brought in several upgrades to its Mi 6 smart handset, Xiaomi is now all set to announce its latest product Mi 7. The smartphone is expected to launch next month at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018. According to the latest reports, the wireless charging feature would be the main attraction for the upcoming model Mi 7.

The front and rear panels of the smartphone had been revealed in the recently leaked images of the Xiaomi Mi7. Hinting that the model will be having wireless charging capabilities, a glass is seen covering the back portion of the new device.

To charge the device’s battery by placing it on to a charging pad, many of the previous flagship devices with wireless charging features had come with all- glass back. Smartphone users will not be surprised if they find Xiaomi Mi 7 also sporting wireless charging technology.

Two of the other reasons why the model is expected to have wireless charging capabilities are that the company had hinted that one of its upcoming devices will come with the feature, and it had also recently joined the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). Even though the company did not mention that Mi 7 will be a product with wireless charging capabilities, some of the external features like the all- glass back hint the device to have the capability.

Looking more into the leak, the fingerprint sensor can no longer be found at the front side of the smartphone in the Mi 7. The biometric scanner is now located at the upper left corner of the back panel near the dual-lens camera. Dual-tone flash for the camera and a dual LED signal are also seen at the back.

Since the device will be one of the first handsets to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, its appearance at MWC might make a great impact. Most of the devices launched in 2017 were powered by Snapdragon 835. Snapdragon 845 is an advanced and latest version of premium mobile processors, and can also showcase an improved performance over Snapdragon 835.
