Facebook Dedicated Video App Targeted at Video Creators Unveiled

Facebook has frequently tried to fire shots at Google’s YouTube by adding more video-focused tools in the social media platform. The company has now deployed the latest of such attempts in the form of a dedicated app targeted for video creators.

Called simply Facebook Creator, the new app aims to lure video creators to the platform for uploading video. The app is designed to help the community create original video in addition to features like going live and connecting with their community through the behemoth network of the parent app.

Facebook Creator has been launched on the iOS platform, with Facebook confirming that it will have the Android version rolled out in the coming months. Apart from live video streaming and related tools, Facebook is also offering the platform of monetizing the products including branded contents.

Live broadcasts can also be personalized to add a fun-feel to the streams. Creator offers tools like adding intros to live broadcast, outros to conclude them, custom live stickers that can also be made interactive for users to trigger actions, and graphic frames in addition to the rest.

Creators will be able to stay in touch with their fans and collaborators through the Community Tab feature, which will also include unified inbox and centralized comments from Facebook and Instagram in addition to messages from Messenger. Creators will also be able to access Facebook Stories to get more engaged with their fans.

In relation to the app, Facebook has also launched a website Facebook for Creators, which provide resources and tips on creation of videos and network betterment.

The launch come amidst Facebook’s effort to up the video experience in the parent platform by adding 4K support. Facebook is supporting 4K quality videos in the social networking platform to push more original shows into the Watch tab.
