Amazon has put Alexa in the driver’s seat, literally. Those who are fans of automaker Nissan’s vehicles would be happy lot as they will now be able to deploy the services of Alexa to control their cars.

Nissan has said that some of its cars will follow Alexa commands, if you would want it to start your car or unlock the doors. The feature comes with the integration of Alexa’s skills with the automotive company’s smart service called  NissanConnect.

What they together do are a set of basic tasks remotely by following simple commands. That means you will be able to remotely open your Nissan model’s doors by just asking Alexa to  tell NissanConnect Services to open the doors.

Apart from operating the doors, Alexa will also help you in turning the engine on or off, honk  or toggle on or off the lights. According to folks at Engadget, the feature will be available in Nissan models like Nissan Altima (2016-17), Nissan Maxima (2016-17), Nissan Murano (2017), Nissan Pathfinder (2017-18), Nissan Rogue (2016, 2017), Nissan Rogue Sport (2017), Nissan Sentra (2016-17), Nissan TITAN (2017), Nissan TITAN XD (2016-17), Nissan GT-R (2017), and Nissan Armada (2018).

It is being said that Nissan will have a rival in BMW by next year on the same terrain, as the German car maker is would fully integrate Alexa so as to provide driving directions on the vehicle’s dashboard screen, and more.
