Visa Payment Stickers in the Works; Would Let You Pay from Your Skin

August 10, 2017, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Did you know Visa is going wearable again? The grapevine has it that the payments giant is making a payment sticker that is wearable!  That means, you will be able to stick it on your hand or other exposed skin and carry on with your payments.

The Visa payment sticker once placed on your skin lets you tap it on to a payment terminal or a connected device whereby your payment via your Visa credit or debit card would be successfully done.

The new innovative idea has taken shape a year after Visa outed a payment ring that as tested successfully at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games. During the start of the current year too, Visa had done a similar test on a pair of payment sunglasses at the Quicksilver Pro and Roxy Pro surf competition in Australia.

And now comes the payment sticker. It works in such a way that the sticker substitutes your payment information with a unique digital code.

You also need not worry if the sticker falls off your skin at any point of time. Another app from the company would step in to disable your payment options in case the sticker falls off.

The testing is said to be on, and if it proves successful, you might be able too own one of these as Visa would try and bring it to the marketplace for sale. But then, whether Visa would decide on a sales strategy, and when, would be something we need to wait to hear from the company itself.
