Meizu Pro 7 Flagship with Dual AMOLED Displays Revealed

July 31, 2017, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Meizu is showing us that dual-camera is not the solo ‘dual-trend’ in field of smartphones. They are now up with their new flagship device, the Pro 7, which features dual AMOLED displays, one each on the front and rear face of the device.

Indeed, the secondary display is not something that brings the entire content so as to skip flipping the phone. The Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus’ secondary display will be sharing similar traits with that of LG’s flagship G series device, i.e. to pop up all the essential notifications.

This will cover all notifications including weather, time, messages, music and more. But the enlarged size of the screen means Meizu couldn’t just afford to sacrifice the space for just merely pulling out notifications. As a result, you could also use the screen for additional functions like for taking a selfie with the rear-cam. We will have to see if Meizu will unfurl additional options further ahead.

As with other specifications, the Pro 7 offers a 1080p Super AMOLED primary display, while the Pro 7 Plus version features a bigger 5.7-inch QHD display. The former will feature a hardware combo of Helio P25 SoC and 4GB RAM, while the latter offers additional power with the combo of Helio P30 SoC along with 6GB RAM. Both the device will come with a storage of 64GB, with the Plus version offering an additional 128 GB version alongside.

Meizu Pro 7 also packs dual-cam sensors on the rear side, each featuring 12MP specification. The front cam is of 16 MP. The Plus version also holds the edge in battery with a bigger 3500 mAh battery over the 3000 mAh battery used in the Meizu Pro 7.

Meizu’s latest flagship will debut its run in China by the mid of August. We will have to wait to see when it will be made available to the rest of the world.
