Pixel Early Render Leaks Reveal Squeezable Edges and Rounded Corners

Google’s second iteration of its Pixel devices have been revealed to be manufactured by LG and HTC. As per the reports, the bigger device was under the to-do-list of LG, while it was HTC which was assigned with the task of more traditional Pixel device.

With that being said, it would be of no surprise if Pixel XL 2, the bigger one, pulls out yet another G6 in terms of its design. That now seemingly appears to be a reality, thanks to the early render leaked by Android Police. But what appears further interesting is that LG is roping in a flagship feature of the other manufacturing partner.

If reports are to be believed, the Pixel XL successor will be featuring a squeezable edge on its side, mimicking the feature that was introduced by HTC in U11. But Google will certainly draw some lines. While HTC’s Edge Sense featured customizable functions, the squeezable edges in Pixel will instead be dedicated for a single task, i.e. to activate Google Assistant.

Going by the design, the Pixel XL successor shares discernable similarity with LG’s G6 with larger screens. The Pixel XL is said to feature a 6-inch AMOLED display, and those will feature rounded corners similar to that of G6. But that should seldom let down the users, as this will still be a huge departure in terms of design norms from the previous Pixel XL.

There are still many features that remain under the shadow, like those of external antenna bands and camera physiques. Google is likely to reveal the new devices during October, so we can expect more clarity on those before it gets official.

As with the smaller Pixel device, there hasn’t been any new revelation. But going by the word, we must believe that the smaller device will be coming out sans any major changes compared to the original Pixel.
