Motorola to Bring Back Moto X Series with Dual Cameras and Water Resistance Capabilities

Motorola has kept themselves busy over a year by throwing out a slew of smartphones ranging from the flagship Moto X device to the budget Moto C smartphone. It appeared that the company had forgotten the Moto X series, one among the first batch of Moto devices launched with Android. But that’s not true, as Motorola is all set to launch the new successor in the series later this year.

Rumors are that Motorola will be launching its Moto X4 smartphone during the fourth quarter this year. What seems to be the biggest addition is the inclusion of dual-cam setup for the primary camera. The setup will feature a combination of 12MP and 8MP sensors in a bid to up the camera prowess of the mid-range device.

Moto X4 will also have a 16MP sensor on the front side. The device will feature a 5.2-inch display with Full HD resolution. The whole body of the device will be wrapped in aluminum. Alongside, it will also be boasting IP68 certification to guard the device from water and dust.

Inside, the Moto X4 will array a decent line of specs that include the Snapdragon 630 chipset with octa-cores clocked at 2.2GHz. It will be complemented by a RAM of 4GB and storage of 64GB. Surprisingly, the device will feature a much smaller battery of 3000mAh capacity, though we can expect some battery savers and dash charging features to bump in.

The Moto X4 is also set to become the first non-Google device to fully support the Fi MVNO feature from the latter that facilitates easier switching of carriers and networks. As of now, there’s no indication of the price-tag the Moto X4 will be bearing.
