Microsoft Extends Task-Management App Planner to Smartphone Platforms

Android and iOS ecosystems are receiving yet another task-management app to make the already-crowded segment a bit more crammed. But this time they come  from a more acquainted developer: Microsoft.

Planner is the app that will now be stepping on to help users with their hectic duty of task management. The app is not making a debut however, as the service from Microsoft was already available to many. But it was only available until now in the form of web app, which means that the latest introduction will open up the doors for the smartphone platform to the new app.

Planner also arrives more evolved compared to the web version, given the fact that it had went through some rejigs as per user feedback received for the web app. The app will also let users view and update their plans created through the web app platform.

Users will be able to create new plans, and let them be organized and assigned with the help of the new app. Tasks can be organized as per the priority, which users can set based on its status or whom they are assigned to. The interface also tends to be neat and easy, especially with the easy drag and drop option that lets you rearrange your status and plans swiftly.

The also brings in other features like easy access to sharing of files and handy chat options with your contacts. Users will require an eligible Office 365 subscription to make the most out of those. That means you will have to be subscribed to any of these plans- Enterprise E1-E5, Business Essentials, Business Premium, or Education.

On top of these features, Microsoft is also promising future updates for the app which will include push notifications, support for new plans and integration with Intune. Planner is currently available free on both the App Store and Play Store.
