Note 8 to Reportedly Continue the Brilliance of Galaxy S8, but with Betterments

Samsung’s Note series was widely believed to have met the dead-end with the Note 7 fiasco last year. It was cemented by the fact that the S8 featured bigger displays than its normal series, although without any big increase in the overall dimensions.

But rumors are that Samsung is indeed behind the works for its upcoming Note phablet successor, and the latest leaks also reveals what could be the first look of the Note 8 device.

The Note 8, as it appears, will feature the Infinite Display used in Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus to deliver edge-to-edge display technology. Besides, it also shares a similar front and rear design as that of the S8. But there are some striking differences which would give the Note 8 devices an edge over its Galaxy S counterparts.

The noticeable absence is of the fingerprint sensors from the rear side. It’s an apparent hint that Samsung could finally bring glass-embedded sensors on its smartphone devices. Galaxy S8 was tipped to be including the feature, but the apparent lack of time has pushed the South Korean manufacturer to skip the feature and push the fingerprints to the rear-side of the device, aside the cameras.

Another major feature is the dual-cam setup, which too was avoided in the Galaxy S8 device. Like we all know, one of the catchy features of Note 7 was its dual-cam setup in the rear side. Galaxy S8 will feature a similar setup with vertically aligned camera sensors.

There aren’t much info on what the screen size would be. But based on the image, it’s certainly bigger than the Galaxy S8 Plus device which featured a 6.2-inch screen. We can expect the device to house the Exynos 8895 and Snapgradon 835 SoC like it is with the S8. In addition, the support for Stylus pens can also be expected. We will get to know more in the coming days, as Samsung is most likely to launch its latest Note series entry by August if going by its usual timeline.
