Facebook Messenger New Update is All about Easy Access to What You Care About

Facebook is reshuffling its priorities to get back messages atop the list inside Messenger. As a result, a new update is being rolled out that brings a revamp to the home screen of Messenger on iOS and Android.

Needless to say, the home screen of Messenger had become disarrayed ever since it started focusing on highlighting features apart from messaging, particularly the Messenger Day, the stories clone.

The app has become so disorganized that it never felt like a messaging application at first. With the new update, Facebook is fixing exactly the same as to once again pinpoint messages on its dedicated Messenger app.

On the top are now available tabs for Messages, Active and Groups, below which the items are arranged quite neatly now. The Messenger Day posts are still getting prominence, but it now gets placed below the three tabs.

Below the tabs are available other options that include Home, Calls, People and Games. Facebook says that it will soon be adding another option to the list, which will be a Discover option to let people get to the things they want more quickly. The stacking of these options would make the app appear busier with an option lacking to hide them as per users’ choice.

Describing the new update, Facebook has said that the focus was to transform the home screen into a central hub for connecting with people and businesses which users want in the way they prefer. The update will roll out globally for both the platforms this week.
