Microsoft OneNote is already a thoroughly refined product that serves all your note keeping tasks. But it’s getting even better now with the latest update that focuses on design upgrades to ease navigation within the app across all platforms.

The Redmond-based company is now rolling out a new update for OneNote that will improve the aesthetics of the app across all platforms, namely iOS, Android, Windows, Mac and web. This will ensure consistency to users across all devices, additionally enhancing usability of assistive technologies.

This, in particular, will help visually-challenged users and those with mobility impairments in handling their favorite note keeping duties more easily. All the updates has come forth as a result of the feedback which Microsoft has been collecting to improve its product telemetry.

The refinement in navigational layout also pays a special attention to larger notebooks, with all the controls now being shifted to the left-hand side of the app. This will now replace the array of menus that were stacked to either side of the app prior to the update.

This will help users switch easily between notes and other pages, as it can now be done by simply clicking its name in the navigation pane. Users can also opt for more options with other pages by simply control-clicking them from the navigation pane. The Mac version will also have the option to resize the pane by simply dragging the mouse pointer over the vertical edge.

Alongside adding greater consistency across the available platforms, the update will also let Microsoft learn about the changing device variety with users being able to swiftly switch between devices. You can download the update or app free of any charges from the respective app stores.
