When you can’t have an Android in an iPhone, make it an Android on an iPhone. That’s what appears to be the motto behind this crazy new iPhone casing up for crowd-funding called Esti Eye. Clearly, this one is the weirdest and intriguing iPhone casing you would ever come by.
That’s because Esti Eye isn’t just an iPhone casing that can bring in some additional perks. Instead, this bulky casing packs an entire stand-alone smartphone powered by an Android device. That’s right, it’s a casing that would make your iPhone go hybrid with Android OS.
Unlike common guess, Esti Eye doesn’t load the Android OS onto your iPhone screen. Instead, it gets the work done by using an additional 5-inch AMOLED screen with always on features. You will have an iPhone if holding normally. Flip it, and you will have an Android 7.0 powered smartphone.
Esti Eye also offers dual-SIM support with which you can have a total of 3 connections used in your iPhone. There is an inbuilt storage of 256 GB, but it’s not clear at this point of whether it can be synced for your iPhone device. The storage can be used to store files and data that can be viewed through the Android explorer.
Esti Eye also comes with a battery of 2800 mAh that can be used as backup for your iPhone device. If all these aren’t enough, this casing also brings an earphone jack alongside. iPhone 7 and 7 Plus users can take note. The device can also make use of the rear-cam of iPhone to let users use it as selfie-cam with the Android display.
Esti Eye is currently up in Kickstarter where users can pledge $95 to back the device. The retail price of the device is expected to be $189, with the LTE version costing $229. Units are expected to get shipped by August this year. Esti Eye will be available for all iPhone variants above the iPhone 6.
