February 4, 2017, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Microsoft’s Outlook app is one among the very few mail apps that caters aptly to the requirements of the users. Despite the shortcoming, Outlook has maintained its reputation of being the finest in its job, and that’s why Microsoft is constantly upgrading the app to expand its functionality.

As a result of those, a new update is coming out to the iOS version of Outlook which also marks the second anniversary of the app. With the upgrade, Outlook will be opening up third-party add-in support for a host of apps to give its users more power to do the required tasks inside the app.

Some of the third party add-in services that are being made available at launch are Evernote, Giphy, Nimble, Trello, and Smartsheet. Besides, Microsoft will also be adding its own creations like the Microsoft Translator and Dynamic 365.

To enable the feature, just head to settings menu and tap the Add-Ins menu once you have the latest version of Outlook installed in your iOS device. Individual add-ins can be distinctly enabled by tapping the ‘plus’ button along the add-in.

The services will be made available immediately to Office 365 customers initially, and it will be then expanded to other users including those accessing Active add-ins will be showed up as an icon when reading an email. Users can invoke them by simply clicking the button.

Microsoft is also working on offering further third party add-in services along with its own inclusions. It will also be opening add-on development to third parties.
